Happy Happy Easter, Gang!  And April Fool's Day, which just so happens to be this gal's Bday!!  In honor of my last year in my 30's (Holy Moses), let's share 39 things about me and random tidbits you may not know! Cheers to a wonderful day with your crew--and to my fellow Fools--Happy Bday...something tells me 39 is going to be one for the books!

39 THINGS ABOUT ME AND TIDBITS YOU MAY NOT KNOW

  1.  I was an "Oops" Baby.  The youngest of three, my brother and sister are 49 and 46 respectively and I was most definitely not planned.......this morning, and every bday morning for that matter, my mom texted, "Best Surprise of my Life."
  2. My parents are still together and have been married for 50 years.
  3. I was born and raised in a small little beach town, Jupiter,  located in southeastern Florida.  It's my favorite place ever...we are headed there this week!
  4. I went to Florida State University and received a Finance Degree.  John will tell you this is the biggest irony of my (and his) life ; )
  5. I played the trumpet for 5 years.
  6. Hangnails give me a massive case of the Skeeves.
  7. I tell anyone in the event of my demise, please make sure my children's ears are clean, nails are trimmed, and sheets are changed.
  8. Bumpy pony tails also give me the Skeeves.  Just ask Chase....I'll do her hair ten times over to ensure no bumps.
  9. I still have my same best friends from Kindergarten.  Brooke and Tiff.
  10. My nickname, c/o Brooke and Tiff, is Cheff.  For no reason other than it rhymed with "Beff" growing up.
  11. I spent a week living on a sailboat my senior year of high school...Outward Bound.  It was an amazing experience even if we did have to go to that bathroom in a bucket on the bow of the boat....in front of everyone.
  12. My laugh has always been my most memorable trait.  When I run into people from grade school, they say it's still the same.
  13. I broke my arm when I was 5 when I was roller skating in my friend's house.
  14. I broke my ankle in high school doing stunts in cheerleading.  I was a base, trying to be a flyer.  No bueno.
  15. I've run two marathons.  The San Diego Rock n Roll and The West Palm Beach Marathon.
  16. I've lived in Jupiter, Tallahassee, Palm Beach Gardens, Fort Lauderdale, London (KY), Lexington, and now Indy.  Why the hell do I keep moving further North?
  17. To that end, I'm a big long distance buff.  No clue why but it's always ended up that way.....dated a Texan, Californian, Kentuckian, New Yorker, and a Hoosier...all while living in Florida or Kentucky.
  18. I used to sell my shoes to my college roommate in order to get money to buy plane tickets to see my boyfriend in Texas.
  19. I also used to charge my older sister to wear my clothes.  About 5 bucks a pop.   The "Clothes In/Clothes Out" Chart is still hanging in our closet.  I would say that was very entrepreneurial of me.  She would argue I was a selfish brat ; )
  20. I love me some therapy.  I haven't been in a while, but I'm a big advocate of going even when life is good.  Therapy is what kept me sane during my divorce.
  21. The most gut wrenching moment of my life was when the girl's father passed.  No child should ever have to experience such loss.
  22. My middle name is Pauline.  Elizabeth Pauline Kelly
  23. I used to be a HUGE thrifter.  In my '82 VW Cabriolet, I would roll up into the Goodwill every weekend in high school.  Two of my favorite finds were a Kelly Green Lacoste Sweater and a pair of Green Plaid Pants.....very golfer chic.
  24. I get told most often I look like Robin Wright.  I saw her at a party in LA...she's incredible.  Like a damn Gazelle.  Lord please let me age like her.
  25. My first concert was Dave Matthews Band.  But my favorite artist and concert is Janet Jackson.  I've seen her three times.
  26. My Senior Superlative was "Best Smile"....me and Brett Waronicki.
  27. I've always loved clothing.  When I was three I would wear baggies on my feet for "glass slippers" and my mom's slips as dresses.
  28. I've had short hair off and on since high school.  The shortest I've ever gone was my senior year when I wanted to have Helena Christensen's short pixie cut but instead got Jim Carrey's a la Dumb and Dumber.  Not. Even. Kidding.
  29. Chase was almost named Hudson.  Campbell was almost named Sloan.  And Calvin wasn't named until the day after he was born.  We tossed around Grey but that bundle is 100% a CALVIN.
  30. This is one of my Favorite Homes I've ever lived in--Quaint, charming, and cozy.  Lovely neighborhood.  Wonderful Neighbors.
  31. My most pinned slash popular post was THIS LOOK.  This was a CLOSE SECOND.
  32. Our wedding was one of the best days of my life.   Only to be outdone by the kids' births.
  33. I love math.  L O V E math.  I got an A in my college calculus which I never let John forget.
  34. I used to drive a baby blue Vespa.  Man I loved that thing.  I swear I'll get another one before I croak.
  35. I wanted to be a back up dancer for Mace.  I'm convinced I've missed my calling.
  36. I L O V E hip hop, rap, slow jams, you name it.  Country Music---not so much....it just ain't my bag.   Never has been.
  37. Johnny is the funniest person I know.  And kindest.  And just simply the best.
  38. The Day I met John was one of the best memories to date.  My two best gals from Lexington, Mckayla and Ashley, and myself had been at Keeneland all day...it was probably one of the funniest days for a host of reasons.  John walked up to me...we had a really great candid convo for about 30 mins...and then I left.  He asked for my number but I didn't give it to him--I'm so lame.  We ended up running into each other again later that night....totally serendipitous.  I ended up giving him my number ; )
  39. My best accomplishments in life are my children.   Chase, Campbell, and Calvin are my life's greatest gifts.  They, along with Johnny, are my purpose.  My blessings are robust.  I love our life.  And I'm so thankful for the blessed 39 years I've had (If you want a dose of sappy...check out this post).  Big hugs, Gang, have a lovely Easter Sunday!
